**Supplies: Please get a collection of supplies that students will need with the help of your grade-level team. Please make sure your name is any items of supplies that you want returned back to you. Also, place these items in some type of bin with a label on the front stating what grade-level it belongs to. This will help with organization and other grade-level students will not be able to use another grade-level’s supplies. Supplies will need to be sent to Coach Brinkmeire.**
Soda Can Tab Contest: There will be a container for students in each grade-level to place their soda can tabs. The grade-level that collects the most tabs will receive the following points: 1st place- 200 points, 2nd place- 150 points, 3rd place- 100 points. (This contest will benefit the Ronald McDonald House.) **Containers will be provided with labels on them.**
Students can begin collecting and turning in tabs from October 19-26.
Dress-Up Days: Students will be allowed to dress up for each dress up day. Students must be in school appropriate attire. If their outfit is not school appropriate, they must wear clothing underneath that is school appropriate. Students will earn points for their grade-level. Points will be as followed: 1st place- 300 points; 2nd place- 200 points, 3rd place- 100 points. (Points will be earned for each day.) These points will include teaching staff for that grade-level that participate.
**Please email Mr. Coleman the number of students that are dressed up each day, and the grade-level. 7th and 8th grade teachers, please do this during 1st period. 6th grade teachers, please do this during 2nd period.**
Dress-up days will ONLY be Wednesday, October 25th-Friday, October 27th .
Wednesday: Scrabble Day (Wear letters and create words with your friends.)
Thursday: People of the Sea (Wear clothing that is related to the beach. Pirate, beach bum, surfer, mermaid…etc)
Friday: Orange and Blue Day (Dress showing school spirit.)
Pie-in-the-Face Contest: Students can purchase $1.00 ticket for a chance to pie one of the volunteer faculty members in the face during the Pep Rally on Friday. They will put the ticket with their name on it in a container during lunch time. The faculty member with the most tickets will get a pie in the face.

Homecoming Day Pep Rally Events
Early Release Schedule: Students will be dismissed from 2nd period to attend the Pep Rally.
Students will be dismissed to the gym at 8:40 for Pep Rally.
Mistress of Ceremonies (AKA: Mrs. Register) will get the Pep Rally going at 8:50.
Homecoming games will begin at 8:55-9:30
Clothes Relay (5 minutes): 8 students from each grade-level and 1 adult (1st place- 100 pts, 2nd place-75 pts, 3rd place- 50 pts) If you have any clothing that we can use for this activity, please bring.
Dance War (15 minutes): This can be a group that can work together and have a synchronized dance routine. This will be judged. Judges will determine the winners. (1st place- 500 pts, 2nd place-400 pts, 3rd place- 300 pts) There will only be one group per grade-level. The group must have at least 10 or more students. They will need to work together and decide what song they would like to dance to, and it MUST be school appropriate. They will need to sign-up on their grade-level sign-up sheet. Please let Mr. Coleman know what song they are going to use by Friday, October 20th.
Spoon and Ball Relay (5 minutes): 4 students from each grade-level to participate (1st place- 100 pts, 2nd place-75 pts, 3rd place- 50 pts)
Balloon Relay (5 minutes): 4 students from each grade-level to participate (1st place- 100 pts, 2nd place-75 pts, 3rd place- 50 pts)

Over and Under Relay (5 minutes): Group of 10 students from each grade-level to participate (1st place- 100 pts, 2nd place-75 pts, 3rd place- 50 pts)
School Spirit Contest: Student Body screaming and cheering for their grade-level. (1st place- 500 pts, 2nd place-400 pts, 3rd place- 300 pts.)

Students will report to their 5th Period class after the Pep Rally.
Lunch Schedule
8th grade- 10:30-11:00
7th grade- 11:00-11:30
6th grade- 11:30-12:00
**Each grade-level will have the opportunity to earn 3000 points toward the School Spirit Stick. This is a competition and students need to get involved if they want their grade-level to win. The grade with the highest amount of points will become the winner of the school spirit stick for the 2017-2018 school year. **
Homecoming Parade
Parade 1:00 p.m.: Students will be dismissed to the busses to go downtown (Old Vernon High School) for the parade. Faculty should meet at City Hall (Old Vernon High School) to meet their homeroom students and walk to the roped off area downtown. This will be at the corner of the red light. ALL students must stay in the roped off area. Everyone must help pull duty to make sure our students are where they belong. Once the parade is over, students are to load the busses to go home as quickly as possible. Please help in supervising to make it a very quick process. (Remind students to bring a plastic bag with them to collect candy.)
Remember the following:
1.) Cheerleaders, Football Players, Basketball players, and Band students will be called out of class during 1st period to get ready for the pep rally.
2.) We will try our best to stick to the schedule above.
